Driving Free Targeted Traffic Can Be Quick, Easy and Affordable to Learn

It’s usually not rocket science that puts us over top in our businesses. In most cases, it’s the simple little everyday things like a good product, excellent customer service and determination that win out at the end of the day.

I take issue with the school of thought that teaches, “outsource everything, all the time.” While I agree that outsourcing is a great and necessary tool for business people to use, it has its time and place.

Let me qualify that statement a bit with this idea:

If you’re driving down the road and don’t know where you are going, how will you know when you get there? If you’re outsourcing your copywriting but don’t have a clue what constitutes well written, effective copy, how will you know if the writer is doing what you paid them to do?

The same thing applies to SEO of your sites. You don’t have to be a programmer, coder or web designer to learn the basics of what makes good websites or are good basic SEO practices.

But you should know enough about it to know if you are getting what you paid for or to at least do the basic stuff yourself. That’s just good business sense. If you intend to do business on the Internet, then you need to at least be functional in some basic computer related skills. It’s a fact of life for Internet business people.

Ask any professional athlete what puts them at the top of their game and they will all tell you the same thing. They are masters of the fundamentals. Everything else is built on that. It’s the foundation that excellence rises from.

There are several top-shelf training programs available to teach you basic SEO skills. They are inexpensive, easy to use and will pay for their self a thousand times over in the long run.

Will you learn everything about SEO in one of these courses? No. Will you be an SEO expert after completing it? Probably not. But you’ll learn enough to know it’s not all that difficult to understand basic SEO. And once you begin to understand something, it loses a lot of its intimidation factor.

If you come away from this article with nothing else, I hope it’s this: “the Googles” are not out to get you. What many people believe is a search engine issue with their lack of traffic is really an SEO issue. The search engine spiders simply don’t understand what you’re trying to tell them. So they shrug their little shoulders, shake their heads, discard your gibberish and move on without another thought about you. (They’re not really that smart, you see.)

Once you can speak a little “spider” talk, I bet you see things picking up around your site. Spiders love to frequent places where they speak the language. They will also send their friends there more readily, too.

Take some time to learn the basic search engine optimization skills needed to run a website effectively. Not only will you drive a better quality of targeted traffic to your site, but you’ll make more money with fewer visitors. That’s a sense of accomplishment no one will argue about being satisfying.
